A Celebration of Life will be from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2020 at The Eudora City Hall, Eudora, KS for Lorene L. Strimple, 88, Eudora, KS. Private inurnment will be held at Peace United Church of Christ Cemetery in Alma, KS. Lorene passed away Wednesday, January 8 2020 at LMH Health.
Lorene was born on June 22, 1931 in Alma, KS, the daughter of Herman Edward Hans and Anna Maria (Pageler) Hasenbank.
She was a homemaker and had previously worked at King Radio and retired from Honeywell in 1993.
Lorene enjoyed her flower gardens, wildlife in general, crafts of all kinds and all of her family and friends.
She married Clarence W. Strimple on December 1, 1946 in Alma, KS. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1978. Lorene was also preceded in death by her parents, children; Barbara Pickering, Judy Theel, Jerry Strimple, Joyce McDowell, sisters; Thelma Dinger, Edna Dinger, and Ella Fink.
Survivors include her daughter, Diana S. (Gene “Kenneth”) Hook; son, Danny L. (Kathy) Strimple, both of Eudora; son-in-law, James “Allen” McDowell; eight grandchildren; Edwina (J.R.), Marie, Jerry (Sarah), Chris (Crystle), Trisha, Eric (Eric T.), Shawn, Ashley, sixteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Operation Wildlife and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
