Tracy Gengler

Graveside services for Tracy Gengler, 43, Iola, KS will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence. Tracy passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

Tracy was born February 6, 1974 in Winchester, KS the daughter of Timothy L. and Linda Sue (Dunmire) Thomas.

She married Mike Guthrie on February 29, 2000. That marriage ended in divorce. To this union two children were born. A daughter, Brittany Cassity; and a son, David Guthrie.

She then married Matthew (Matt) Gengler, on September 24, 2011 in Iola, KS. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her mother, Linda Shaw, Iola, KS; her stepmom that raised her, Donna Thomas; daughter, Brittany Cassity; and son, David Guthrie, both of Eudora, KS; and four brothers, Patrick Thomas, Iola, KS and Michael Thomas, Linwood, KS, Russell Higgins, and James Shaw, Jr. both of Iola, KS; a sister, Alice Shaw, Monet, MO; aunt, Lorena Lewis, Spring Hill, KS. She was preceded in death by her father, Timothy Thomas and her step-father, James Shaw and brother, Samuel Higgins.

She worked at Gates Rubber, making underground electrical cable and sold Avon on the side.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Liver Foundation or the National Kidney Foundation and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
