Memorial gathering for Carl L. Manlove, 92, Lawrence will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 17, 2017 at the VFW in Lawrence. Burial will be at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery. He passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
Carl was born April 28, 1925 in Garnett, KS the son of Carl M. and Florence E. (Johnson) Manlove.
He served his country from 1943-1946 in the United States Army during WWII.
He worked at several construction companies before working at the University of Kansas as a union carpenter for 18 years before retiring in 1991.
He married Patricia Belle Hodge in 1961 in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his children, Carla Parris of Lawrence, Sally & John Kennedy of Lake Dabinawa, David & Lisa Manlove of Horton, Mary “Melissa” Graham & companion Charles Tolbert of Lawrence, KS; eight grandchildren, Lori, Richie, Cieara, Morgan, Bret, Emily, Nick, Jessica and thirteen great-grandchildren, Alicia, Heather, Cyrus, Carl, Lillian, Bethany, Samuel, Michael, Alyssa, Tyrin, Alizebeth, Trinity, Kyden.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Wounded Warriors and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
