Barbara Joanne Rogge, 59, of Overland Park, KS passed away April 3, 2014. A funeral service will be held at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, KS on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.
Barbara was born in Massillon, Ohio on October 4, 1954, the daughter of Phylas & Jack Lose.
She attended Shawnee Mission West High School and graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Textile Design. Her carefree spirit and unmatched sense of humor caught the eye of Richard Rogge, who was smitten with her from day one. They were married on September 9, 1978 and have two children, Ali and Stephen.
Barbara will be remembered for her devotion to family, quick wit, sensitivity to others, gift of gab, and love of photography, art, and gardening.
Her father precedes her in death. She is survived by her husband, mother, daughter, son, three sisters, three sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and twelve nieces & nephews who love her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to help cover funeral expenses payable to the Richard Rogge Donation Account in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary at 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS, 66044. Make checks payable to Richard Rogge.

Someone said they saw the obit and I very sorry for your loss. I know having your kids there to support you will be good in your time of need. I just lost my dad about a year ago and I am still in shock.

I saw Barb’s picture and it took me back to 1972 sitting in history class. She always cracked me up whispering tales of the previous weekend’s adventures which helped the less than interesting lectures we were supposed to be absorbing. We were both in art in high school but traveled in different groups outside of history class.
Never saw her after we graduated in 73 but she is one of those people who could always bring a smile when thinking back to high school.
So very sorry to hear of her passing.

When I read Barbara’s name in the obituaries, I was so saddened to know that she had passed at much too early an age. Ali and Stephen were in my second-grade class at Nall Hills Elementary.
