Funeral services for Jason W. Tucker, 38, Lawrence, KS will be held on 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at First Christian Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, in Lawrence. He died on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Jason was born on September 11, 1974 in Lawrence, KS, the son James and Jan Zook Tucker.
He was a graduate of Lawrence High School and attended both Ft. Scott Community College and Johnson County Community College.
Jason had worked for Sunflower Cablevision and Cox Communications as a cable installer until he became disabled in 2005.
He was a member of the First Christian Church. He was an avid eagle watcher and also attended practices and games for the sports that his sons were involved with. He was an accomplished photographer beginning in his days in the Cottonwood 4-H Club and he attended Fort Scott Junior College on a photography scholarship.
Survivors include his three sons, James, Austin, and Gannon Tucker of the home, his mother, Jan Tucker, of the home and his good family friend, Gary Moulton, of Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his twin sons, Dawson and Griffin Tucker, and his father, Jim Tucker.
The family suggests memorials in his name to the First Christian Church Youth Ministry and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
He will lie in state from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.

Jason was such a dedicated father. We looked forward to all the games his sons played with our grandsons, and we always knew he would be there, cheering his boys on with positive comments. His love and commitment to them will be a shining memory for us and we pray for comfort for Jan and the boys.

I know this a sad time for you all and that I want you to know that I know how much Jason loved all of you. I will always remember his smile and hand shake when he would say goodbye after talking to me after visiting me at school about each of the boys. My best to all of you at this difficult time.

My heartfelt sympathies to Jan and Jason’s Children. I have many fond memories of Jason from 4-H and High School. Jason always greeted a friend with a warm smile and heartfelt handshake. I will forever remember his passion for photography and the many successes he had in 4-H in the project, and with the High School Paper. To his children, know that you were the light in his eyes, and he dearly loved you.

Hey i know that no body comes on here anymore to say anything about you but i think about you every day and its about to be 3 years iv’e seen you and talk to you when i go fishing and when a play football i think of you i miss you very much and i love you but with you gone i learned that you have to deal with what you got and i think with you being gone i’m going to be a better person. Thank you for coming on here and taken the time to say something to me. It’s been a while since I’ve been on here but I always find myself here, miss him a lot. I wish I would have had more time with him was only 11 when he past, crazy to think it’s already been 7 years.
