William L. Crowe

Funeral service for William L. Crowe, 59, Lawrence, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel in Eudora, KS. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Eudora Cemetery. William passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at his home.

William was born on January 17, 1963, in Harrisonville, Missouri the son of Lloyd and Martha (Hirning) Crowe.

He was a heavy equipment operator and worked for Hamm’s Construction for 31 years and more recently for Coherst Construction.

William loved the outdoors, he enjoyed the work on the family farm, raising cattle, haying with his wife, driving John Deere tractors. In his early years, he was a pitcher, played basketball and bowled. He could also be found on the drag strip in his Cutlass. His family says he was a man of few words, was a dedicated friend and neighbor to many.

He married Laura Wiederholt on August 24, 1990 in Lawrence, KS. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his children, Devan (Derrick) Shutts, Eudora, Dustin (Danielle), Eudora, Tyler (Ashley Miles), Overbrook, two brothers, Daniel (Dianne) Crowe, Prescott, AZ; Robert (Sharon) Crowe, Saratoga, CA; seven grandchildren, Maddie, Jaxon, Charley, Dallas, Colbey, Maverick, and Hudson.

    Don’t know where to start.. Laura and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Sending love, prayers, and hugs. Willie was a great friend. He was my “brother” for so many years.
