William Henry Gehrke

Funeral services with Military Honors for William Henry “Bill” Gehrke, 82, Lawrence, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. He passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

William Henry was born in Chicago, IL, the son of Henry Albert and Mabel (Moeckley) Gehrke.

He serviced his country in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command.

He married Colleen Kay Wilson on November 4, 1957. She survives of the home.

He was a self-employed mechanic at Bill’s Alignment & Brake in Lawrence.

Other survivors include his son, Monte K. Gehrke; daughter, JoAnn Gehrke Kibbee; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and brother, Robert Gehrke and his wife, Patricia and their family.

The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service on Monday at the mortuary.

Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
