A Visitation for Wendell B. Benson, 48, Lawrence, KS, will be held from 7:00 ~ 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. A reminiscing period will be held from 10:00 ~ 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024, also at the mortuary. A Graveside will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Wendell passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at LMH Health.
Wendell was born on October 19, 1975, in Twin Buttes, ND, the son of Myrna Nellie Benson.
Survivors include his sister, DeAnna Wahwahsuck, nephew, Jalerio and niece, Jaynece.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrna Nellie Benson, brother, Phillip Wahwahsuck, stepdad, Duane, grandparents, Philip and Susan Benson.
The Wendell I knew was kind, resilient, and strong in his beliefs- -he persevered through struggles that most of us will never endure and yet remained positive and thankful for those who cared for him. May his spirit be whole and find peace.
Condolences to the Benson Family. Wendell was friend and co-worker to me. He also befriended my mom during their Dialysis days. She loved Wendell and was always looking out for him. Mvto for his friendly spirit and thankful to have known him.
