The Grier family from across the street for all hose decades growing up in Haven are sad to hear this news. Vera was a wonderful woman, and I still have a long letter she wrote to me about 10 years ago following Bob’s death, when I wrote to her long memories of Bob. Hugs to all of you.

What a wonderful lady. Like a second mom when I was growing up. Reed, Rita and everyone, I am sorry for your loss but she is in heaven now. I used to go by every summer to say hi to her and she would always be out in her yard working tending to her flowers. So many good memories with your family growing up in Haven.

Your Mom was one of the first ladies I talked to when I first moved to Haven, a gracious, kind, lovely lady. Reed, Rita and everyone, I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers will be with all your family and may you look to GOD for comfort at this time.

I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to all of Vera’s family. Vera was not only a business co-worker, but a very good friend. I spent many hours with Vera and Marilyn, shopping and eating! We had so much fun! When she moved to Lawrence, I missed her deeply. God Bless – Cherol Schoon
