Tony C. Hunter

Funeral services for Tony Curtis “Rabbit” Hunter, 60, Olathe will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. He passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 at his home.

Tony was born June 9, 1958 in Hollendale, MS, the son of AD Hicks and Rosie B. (Little) Hunter.

He graduated from Lawrence High School.

Tony enjoyed spending time with his family, music, and enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball.

He worked for Stokely-Van Camp and the University of Kansas.

Survivors include his sons, Tavaras Hunter, Norris Hunter, Tyrone Hunter, “Bud” LaShonte Harris; daughter, Tania Harris; many grandchildren; sisters, Lessie Hunter, Elizabeth Cooper (Alford); and brothers, Jesse Hunter (Linda), and Joseph Hicks (Carolyn). He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Turner.

The family will greet friends at 10:00 a.m. one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the mortuary.

Memorials may be made in Tony’s name and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
