TJ was born on March 17, 1978 in Great Bend, KS, the son of Delane and Lana (Schamaun) Dietz.

He graduated from Great Bend High School in 1996 and later received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Kansas State University in 2001.

He had worked for a number of years for Builders Stone & Masonry –BSM Wall Systems as Market President.

He loved KU basketball and Nebraska football but was always a KSU Wildcat at heart. He had a passion for golf. Although, when he started a family, golf paled in comparison. He savored every moment watching Malia play volleyball and was immensely proud of Ethan’s taekwondo accomplishments. Being together with his family was his happiest place.

He married his high school sweetheart, Denise Penka on September 27, 2003 in Great Bend, KS. Denise survives of the home.

Other survivors include his children, Malia and Ethan Dietz of the home; his parents Delane and Lana Dietz; his brother, Michael Dietz; grandmother, Lila Bowman all of Great Bend, KS; many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don Schamaun and John and Alvina Dietz.

The family suggests memorials in his name to the TJ Dietz Children’s College Education fund, checks should be made payable to Denise Dietz and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
