Sal resided in Olathe with his mother, Ann Miller. Other survivors include siblings, Benjamin Vanasse, Jonathan Vanasse, Michael Vanasse, Nellie McCool and his father, Charles Vanasse of Overland Park; as well as remaining family in Sierra Leone, West Africa.
Salifu enjoyed any form of athletics including swimming, weight lifting and football. He was also an avid fisherman. To say he was loved by many proves the inadequacies of the english language. He was a priceless gift to everyone who knew him and were fortunate enough to be welcomed into his circle.
