Mike, I’m so sorry for your loss. It is a great loss to the community as well. My dad loved visiting with yours. It was two years ago yesterday that dad passed away. Very difficult time for you, I know. Ellen Garber

His strength of character and integrity lives on through his family now and always. I went to Barber School with Mike and Jon at 8th & Walnut many years ago and will never forget their kindness, skill, and compassion. God Bless.
Mike, I’m so sorry for your loss.
Mike, I was sorry when I read the paper this afternoon to see that your father died. Mine passed away just over a year ago, so I know how this feels. Remember the good times and live life to the fullest as I feel certain he did. Peace.
I am so sorry learn of Tom´s death. I will always remember the great times we all had going to LHS Football Games. Dad always said he would have never made it in the Real Estate Business with out Tom giving the opportunity to work in the barber shop on 14th St.

The Amyx & Rogers families have been closely associated for 3 generations or 50+ years. I remember well all the good hours spent at the 14th St. Barbershop with Tom, Artie & Charley in the 1950s. It was the place to be! All the KU jocks streamed down the 14th St. hill to get a haircut there. When I was first married in 1960 I lived upstairs above the 14th St. Barbershop. Tom & I both loved a “bargain”…… he would take me evening auctions around Lawrence. Over the last 50 some years my family never considered Tom as just our barber but a “great friend”. Many times over the last couple generations I have felt our two families helped raise each others children & grandchildren. “Our Friendship has had a Great Ride”. Sincere condolences to Shirley,Mike,Jon & Ronnie from All the PAUL ROGERS Family (Past & Present)
So sorry to hear about Tom’s passing. He was a wonderful teacher for my first job in the barber industry. I learned alot from him and enjoyed working with him. He was always good to me. My condolences to the entire Amyx family.

Jon, I was sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I did not know him personally but he must have been a good man as he raised a fine son. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Mike, my dad has many stories of your dad ’cutting’ his hair! God Bless you! We are losing our parents now, when we always thought that they would ’go on forever’! My heart goes out to you!
