Funeral service for Steven Robert Walker, 54, Lawrence will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Ninth Street Baptist Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. He died October 17, 2016 at his home.
Steven was born on October 25, 1961 in Lawrence, Kansas the son of Lester LaVerne and Deborah Jane (Berry) Walker.
He was a fork lift diver for Amar garage in Lawrence.
Survivors include his father, Lester Walker, Lawrence; son, Brandon Walker, Lawrence; brother, Kevin Walker, Lawrence; two grandchildren, Jazlynn and Elijah; two aunts, Rita Bradley, Marjarie Walker; two uncles, Charles Walker, Lawrence, Clareance Walker, Lenexa and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah “Deb” Jane Walker on July 7, 2016.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday, October, 24th at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Steven Walker Memorial fund and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of Steven. May you find comfort in the words written at John 5:28,29, where God promises to bring back to life those we have lost in death by means of resurrection. In the future He will also do away with our enemy, death.(Revelation 21:4) This gives us the wonderful hope of being reunited with our loved ones, forever. Until then, I hope the memories of Steven and these promises from God comfort you in the days to come.

Steve was a wonderful man and he will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
