Steve was an avid golfer throughout life; from his many years at Southwind Country Club in Garden City and most recently Alvamar Country Club. His other interests included University of Kansas sports, traveling, food & wine, and spending time with his loving extended family. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in both Garden City and Lawrence.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Schneider, whom he married on August 9, 1970 in Hays, KS.
Other survivors include daughter: Erin Klein (Andrew) of St. Louis, MO; son: Evan Fox (Jennifer) of Kansas City, KS; three grandchildren: Drew, Ella, and Kate Klein; and one brother, Jim Fox (Lynne) of Dighton, KS.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in his name to the First United Methodist Church Senior Ministries or the Mid-America Chapter of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

Although it has been almost too many years to count, I was in Steve’s high school graduating class. He was an “all around good guy” even then. A good student, a good athlete, a good person. The world, and so very many people, are undoubtedly so much better for his having lived among us. My sympathy to you, his family.
Jan, Erin and Evan,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this tough time. The thing I remember the most from my few occasions with Steve was his obvious pride and love of his children and grandchildren. Challenged only by his love for the Jayhawks! I know his love for all will carry on in each of you.
With deepest sympathy,
Trey
Jan, Ron and I are saddened to learn of your loss. Ron said, “Steve was one of nicest guys.” That’s what I remember from high school, a young man that was always polite and kind to everyone. Our thoughts and prayers to you and your family during this difficult time. Ron and Lurita
