Ronald Ray DeMott

Graveside services for Ronald Ray DeMott, 81, Eudora will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Eudora Cemetery in Eudora, KS. Ron passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at LMH Health.

Ron was born on September 25, 1939 in Blue Mound, KS, the son of Ray and Virginia (Parnell) Russell DeMott.

Ron graduated from Blue Mound Highschool in 1957.

He married Julia Ann Jeffery on March 16, 1973 in Eudora, KS. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his three sons, Steve DeMott (Brenda), Kansas City, MO, Mike DeMott (Robin), Stephenville, TX, Scott DeMott (Dee), Lindsborg, KS; seven grandchildren, Dustin, Logan, Shelby Anderson (Connor), Chelsea, Mikhayla, Jarod, Skyler; sisters, Beverly Lind, Janet Johnson (Richard), both of Fort Scott, KS; nephews; Shane Johnson, Nocona, TX and Shannon Johnson (Tommy), Fort Scott, KS; and great nephews, Tyler and Tanner; niece, Debbie Howard (Bruce), Eudora, KS, nephew, Jeff Neis (Carey Creason), Lawrence, KS; great nephews; Hunter Neis, Lawrence, KS, Cody Howard (Ashley) – Riley, great niece Elisha Howard, Eudora, KS.

He will lie-in-state from 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel 1003 John L. Williams Drive in Eudora.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ron’s name to Arthritis Foundation and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

    Steve, Mike, Scott, Julia and families— I am so sorry to learn of Ron’s passing. He was such a character and I have wonderful memories of riding with him. He is now back with JJ and all his treasured horses. Cowboy will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

    So sorry to read of Rons passing. We have lost so many wonderful people including my husband Dick Brown in Dec. There will obviously a hugh party in heaven. Hugs to the family.

    So sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. Met him when my parents owned the Dari Treat many years ago. I can remember him bringing the boys in with him to the Dari Treat. They were little guys.
    My family thought a lot of Ron. He will truly be missed.
