Robert “Bob” Redick

Funeral services for Robert E. “Bob” Redick, 89, Lawrence will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the De Soto Baptist Church. Burial will follow in De Soto Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6- 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the De Soto Baptist Church.

He died June 23, 2017 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Robert was born December 25, 1927 in Woodson County, Kansas the son of John R. and Cecile B. (James) Redick.

Bob served his country in the Army Air Force Corp form 1946-1947.

He was a member of the De Soto Baptist Church, De Soto VFW, De Soto Masonic Lodge #40 where he was a past master, Shawnee Masonic Lodge #54, Abdallah Shriners, Lawrence Scottish Rites. He served 62 years as a Mason and was a 33rd degree Mason.

Bob enjoyed being a baseball coach and a Scoutmaster.

He worked at Hercules for 40 years retiring in 1991.

Survivors include three daughters, Sue (Doug) Farrell and Cheryl (Robert) Bishop all of Ottawa, KS, Gloria Wycoff, Lawrence, a sister, Joyce Rogers, Udall, KS, a brother, Jerry Redick of Lebanon, MO; he was loved by 44 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Robert Jr. and Johnnie, his wives, Betty Keller and Bonnie Redick, siblings, Rowe Dean Redick, Donald Redick, Alma McKoon, Betty Willis and Sondra Brown.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospital and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
