Richard “Dick” Miller

Funeral services for Richard Miller, 88, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2018 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Richard passed away Thursday, December 14, 2018 at Windsor of Lawrence.

Richard was born December 12, 1930 in Benton County, Missouri, the son of Barton and Ruth Miller.

He was a Fork Lift Operator for Delco Battery where he worked for 30 plus years. He enjoyed working cattle, traveling to Arizona in the winter and Blue Grass Music. Dick was a member of the US Army.

He married Esther A. Montgomery on June 24, 1978 in Lawrence, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his, son, John Miller, step-children; Dan Hadl, Linda Stanwix, step-grandchildren; Shannon Stanwix, Pat Stanwix, Dustin Hadl, Jasen Hadl, Kayla Hadl, Jimmy Lee Hadl, eleven step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Marcia Parks Miller, three sisters, one brother, and step-son, Jim Hadl.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Monday December 17, 2018 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to Great Lakes Hospice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
