    She was a wonderful aunt. She laughed with you and cried with you. There was always a grin and a hug when you went to visit!!!! She had the best sense of humor. She was a classy lady for sure, no wonder my Uncle Jake fell for her!!!

    It is difficult to put into words the feelings we have at this time of her passing over. I’ll bet she’s already up there talking and laughing with Uncle Jake and all the rest of our family and friends who have gone ahead of her. She was one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

  7. Linda Helton to family and friends on July 13, 2010 at 12:00 am

    July 11, 2010,
    Mother’s death-date and it’s quite alright with us,
    In years past we have wept and mourned,
    but now we’ve been set free;
    For many years ago something happened,
    and it strangely gave us peace,
    The grieving that had bound our hearts gave way to sweet release.

    Those some fourteen years ago that Daddy passed away,
    His heart belonged to her and God, and on that final day
    His guardian angel took his hand, and said, “I think you know,
    Your loved ones all are waiting, sir, it’s time for us to go…

    “A mighty celebration, sir, to be held on this date,
    And you’re the guest of honor, sir, it’s best we not be late!

    For God Himself has planned it thus, and therefore it shall be,
    Ere earth was formed this date was writ by a Heavenly decree!”

    So Daddy took the angel’s hand and flew to Jesus’ side,

    And Mother stood beside the Lord, her arms held open wide;
    And in that Land where there’s no pain, no sickness and no sin,
    God’s laughter shook the heavens and said, “Let the partying begin!”

    Today is Mother’s death-date, yet our hearts are filled with joy,
    Our souls have found serenity which nothing can destroy;

    The Most High God is ever nigh, He has no need of sleep,
    And Mother’s wrapped in Daddy’s arms…so today we shall not weep

    Connie, Eddie, & Linda – I heard of your mother’s passing too late to attend the services. I’m sorry, for I would have liked to tell you in person how much your mother meant to me. She was a warm and loving lady, and a second mother to me on East Glenn. Memories of the time spent at your home then are among my happiest. My deepest sympathies for your loss.

    Aunt Reta was the one who held us altogether. Do not let her passing keep us apart. We must know she is happier now with Uncle Jake and the rest. They must all be looking down now and raising their glasses and saying “someday you will know what being free of pain is and the peace and love we now know, until then we will party hardy — love you much”. I miss you Mama Reta. Love you much too!!!!!!
