Services for Raymond Dean Bryant, 87, Oskaloosa will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the mortuary. Raymond died March 24, 2025, at F.W. Huston Senior Living in Winchester, KS.
Raymond was born April 3, 1937, In Linwood, KS the son of Joseph E. and Hazel G. (Mitchell) Bryant.
Raymond worked in the building trades his entire career and retired as a union bricklayer.
Raymond loved photography. He was also a collector of cameras, arrowheads, stamps, and guns, just to name a few. He also had a passion for crafting and carpentry.
He married Nancie Lea Hipsher on October 8, 1960, in Lawrence, KS. She preceded him in death on November 1, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings.
Survivors include his children Tina (Ron) Bates, Michael (Carla) Bryant, and Zelia Bryant, his sister, Evelyn Fairbanks; grandchildren, Kelsey Bates, Cameron (Lydia) Bryant, Jarrod (Erin) Bates, Brenna (Ryan) Kaufman, Dalton Bryant, Addison Bryant, Connor Bryant; great grandchildren, Bristol, Leo, Crew, Teddy, Blake, Ridge and Kendall; great-great granddaughter, Blakelyn.
He was a devoted family man who cherished every moment with his children and grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to F.W. Huston Senior Living Activities Fund and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary 120 W. 13th St. Lawrence, KS 66044.
