Ramona Kathryn (Miller) Langlois
(April 4, 1929 – August 5, 2022)

Ramona Kathryn (Miller) Langlois of Lawrence, Kansas, was born on a farm in Bigelow, Kansas, to Joseph and Kathryn (Otto) Miller, the fourth child of nine children. She graduated from Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Kansas, in 1946. She passed away peacefully on August 5, 2022, at Bridge Haven Memory Care Home in Lawrence.

She is survived by her husband, Leo (Gardner, MA), whom she met in Topeka, Kansas, in 1954 when Leo was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base and Ramona was employed at Santa Fe Railroad as a comptometer operator. They were married on February 19, 1955, and settled first in Topeka, later moving to Lawrence in 1967 where Leo had accepted a position at the University of Kansas. Ramona stayed home to raise their two daughters. She also volunteered her time at church and at the hospital. They were married for 67 years before Ramona passed away.

Ramona was energetic and athletic. She played basketball in high school and enjoyed swimming and bowling. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She loved music and played the saxophone and piano. She enjoyed spending time with her family, growing flowers, traveling, baking, playing cards, art, hiking, swimming, butterflies, and birds. Her apple pies were the best. She had a keen eye and appreciated nature and the beauty of things around her. Ramona loved babies and children and was a very kind, caring person with a big heart.
