Patricia Lou Cary

 

****Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Higginsville Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery.

Patricia Lou Cary, formally of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away on December 25th, 2020 in Lawrence, Kansas. She suffered from Alzheimer’s for the last seven years and died while in hospice care at her son’s house in Lawrence.

Pat was born on June 2, 1937 in Independence, Missouri to Charles F. and Lucille Miller. In 1955 she graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence, Missouri. She married Joseph Dean Cary in Independence on October 13, 1957. She became a homemaker, raising three children, participating in 4H, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She worked for many years as the office manager for Dr. Charles Donohoe, MD in Independence. She absolutely loved everything about Christmas. She was known for making Christmas candies and cookies, giving boxes of the treats to dozens of families every year. She was also a huge fan of Mickey Mouse.

She is survived by her children: Julie Sippio (husband, Jim) of Loveland, Colorado; Dan Cary (wife, Susan) of Lawrence, Kansas; and Tammy Rife (husband, Dale) of Blue Springs Missouri. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

 

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Warren McElwain mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
