Norma Elliott

Funeral service for Norma Lee Elliott, 75, Lawrence will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.  Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Mrs. Elliott died on February 3, 2009 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.  She moved to Lawrence in the mid-50s.

She was born on September 26, 1933, in Calico Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Henry and Addie (Hively) Whiteaker.

She was a homemaker.  She later worked in daycare for over 21 years.
 
She married C.J. Elliott on June 18, 1955 in Lawrence.  He preceded her in death on December 17, 1985. 

Survivors include one daughter, Tina Penny, Sibley, IA; two sons, Mark, Baldwin City, KS, Jerry, Lawrence, Three brothers, Dale Whiteaker, Wenatchee, WA, Hays Whiteaker, Calico Rock, AR, Thad Whiteaker, Mayetta, KS; two sisters, Edna Wallace, Mountain Home, AR, Bernice Boedeker, Baldwin City, KS; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2009, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Lawrence Humane Society and sent in care of the mortuary.
