Ben,
Sorry to hear about Nancy. I remember her fondly. I miss seeing you around the Math Department.
Nancy was my wonderful hiking friend. We had amazing times on the Amalfi Coast, Sicily, Colorado, Kansas, Austin, and Toronto. I miss her yet have so many great memories of our time together. My condolences to Ben, Melissa, Catherine and their families – who Nancy spoke of with joy.
Nancy brought joy to those near her. She was smart, well-read, and she saw the humor in life; being with her was always fun. She was one of my dearest friends over the nearly 50 years that we have known each other, We watched as our children grew up, and we went through many of the ups and downs of life together. We had wonderful travels together, including two walking trips in Italy. Someone meeting Nancy for the first time would not have guessed how athletic and fit she was because she had the lithe grace and glamour of the beautiful woman she was. She was a trooper to the end. When I visited her in Kansas City last December, she insisted on walking up and down the steep hill near the Nelson, pushing her walker in front of her. She was a trooper to the end. My condolences to her family.
