Mass of Christian Burial for Nancy L. Brune, 81, of McLouth, KS, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 3, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence. Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Nancy passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Nancy was born on April 15, 1940 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Francis and Anne (McElhinney) Lewis.
She worked as a Personnel Officer for the Veteran’s Administration at various posts, including Chicago, Illinois, and Washington, D.C., for several years.
Nancy was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She loved music, reading, and travel, and was a devoted supporter of several charitable organizations.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Randol B. Brune, whom she married on November 2, 1974, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Other survivors include her children, Paul (Amy) Brune of Leawood, KS; Dan Brune of McLouth, KS; Laura (Kevin) Combs of Olathe, KS; five grandchildren, Noah, Aidan, Lukas, Ainsley and Corinne; brother Mike Lewis of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and sister, Loretta (Ron) Seigley of Erie, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Anne; and her siblings, Tom Lewis, Mary Catherine Cowell, and Jeannie Lewis.
A Rosary Service will be held at 5:00 p.m., followed by the family greeting friends until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s name to Catholic Charities and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
