Nancy A. Fisher

Graveside services for Nancy A. Fisher, 87, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Oak Hill Cemetery. She passed away Thursday, December 20, 2017 at Bridge Haven Village.

Nancy was born October 22, 1930 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Sidney Roach and Mariam M. (Gum) Hopkins.

She worked at Watkins Museum and was an office worker at NCS Pearson for four years. She also worked at the court house counting votes after election polls close.

She loved KU basketball.

She married Ralph D. Fisher January 22, 1949 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death December 20, 1991.

Survivors include her children, Floyd Martin Fisher, Eugene Fisher, Teresa A. McDonald, all of Lawrence, Karen Fisher, Lansing, KS, Paul Fisher, Lawrence, Esther Ruth Adkins, Stockton, CA, Alice Jane Holding, Lawrence, Larry Glenn Fisher, Lawrence; seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Mary Elizabeth Fisher; son, Robbie W. Fisher; grandchildren, Kris McDonald, Nicole Fisher; and one great grandchild.

The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the graveside on Tuesday, December 26th at the mortuary.

Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to the Fisher family to assist with travel expenses and may sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    Nancy was a special woman! Sweet, kind, social, and happy. She had such a great memory, too!! She will be missed!

    Just heard of Nancy’s graduation to Heaven today. What a sweet woman of God. She loved her family and prayed for them daily that each one would know Jesus as their saviour. God bless her! 🙂
