Micaela “Mickey” Mendoza

Mass of Christian Burial for Micaela “Mickey” Mendoza, 56, Eudora will be held at 10a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora.  Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.  

She died April 8, 2009 at her home in Eudora.

She was born July 12, 1952 in Merkel, Texas, the daughter of Felipe and Lucia

Hernandez Biera.

She worked for E &E Display Group in Lawrence for several years.  She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora.  She also loved Bingo.

She is survived by: two daughters, Tonya Purcell and husband Mark of Eudora and Sarah Mendoza of Lawrence; two sons Manuel and David, both of Lawrence; four brothers, Edward Biera, Hutchinson, Joe Biera, Eudora, Robert Biera, Peoria, IL, Henry Biera, Linwood; two sisters Mary Ramirez, LaMesa, TX and Virginia Wilkins, Lawrence; and five grandchildren, Gage and Devin Purcell, Bishop Mendoza, Xavier and Kaiden Jimenez.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Phillip Biera

A Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. followed by visitation until 8 p.m. at Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel on Monday, April 13, 2009.

Memorials in her name may be made to Kansas Cancer Institute at University of Kansas Hospital or Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care.
