Mary E. Russell

Family services for Mary E. Russell, 73, Lawrence will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 in Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, KS. She passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at Indian Creek Nursing Center in Overland Park, KS.

Mary was born September 7, 1942 in Kansas City, KS the daughter of Logan C. and Marie E. (Nick) Croskey.

She attended Donnelly College.

Mary worked for many years for the Overland Park Police Department and Deluxe Check Printers. In her retirement she volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and loved to scrapbook.

Survivors include her daughter, Laura A. Russell, Lawrence; brother, Dr. Frank L. Croskey and wife, Jane, Overland Park, KS; niece, Michelle Sherley and husband, Jim; Dana Wells and husband, Chris; three great nieces; and one great nephew; and four God children.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Grace Hospice or to Lawrence Habitat for Humanity and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    Mary E. will be greatly missed. She was a beloved cousin and friend. She was funny to be around and loved life. I will miss her deeply and know that she is missed by all who loved her. My prayers are with Laura and know that she is strong like her mom.

    Mary Elizabeth was a sweet lady who was always kind to me. I admired her so much, especially in her evident love for her family.

    Mary was always a happy person. No matter what was going on in her personal life. She was a very good mother to Laura. She will be missed by all. R.I.P. Mary Simpson
