Mary’s smile would light up a room and did the last time I saw her at a pre-Covid Perry Senior Citizen’s luncheon when Elvis (our classmate Bob Lockwood) was performing. Ray and I send our deepest sympathy to her family.

    Karen,

So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. My mom, Phyllis, said she was just thinking about your mom earlier this week. Your mom was made of honor in my mom’s wedding. Mary Ellen was 16 years old. You are all included in our prayers. Mom sends hugs to Barbara and Gay.

Barbara Jean, Mary Ellen, Gay Lynn, the three Corel GIRL’S that was us!
Oh! the memories we have together, Lawrence was a wonder place to grow up!
How very grateful I am for my Lawrence family and friends. Grandpa Corel had a big old oak porch swing (it’s still there) on the front porch of the farm house, if only it could talk!!
Eric, Rodney, Karen OLD Uncle Jim and Aunt Barbara need a kiss (they say we are too old to travel) so your going to have to California for a rest. We’ll sit on Bob’s porch and reminisce for hours! God bless everyone Mary and Bob are at peace again and me have great memories of them. All is good with our Lord.

Mary was one of the “three amigos” who dedicated hours before each election as the advance board, her attention to detail was vital for that job. No matter how intense the election, we could always count on her laugh and smile to make our day, but she would also keep us on task and made sure her expectations were met. The County Clerk’s office will miss her and we are so glad to have had her in our lives.

Jamie Shew and the rest of the Douglas County Clerk’s office.

Mary was a fierce spirit who, like Jamie, I got to know well in my time with the Election Office. Though I’ve relocated and left elections work behind, I appreciated her service and effort to Douglas County elections. My family and I send our sincere condolences.
