Marvin Oloth Wiedeman, Jr.

Graveside services for Marvin Oloth Wiedeman, Jr., 69, Lawrence, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery. Marvin passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 at his home.

Marvin was born on April 17, 1951 in Detroit, MI the son of Marvin Oloth Wiedeman, Sr. and Lucille (Culter) Wiedeman.

He was a supervisor in the electrical shop at the University of Kansas.

Marvin enjoyed watching his grandkids, bowling, fishing, the Chiefs, Royals and WWF Wrestling.

He married Susan D. Turner on May 3, 1976 in Lawrence. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his daughter, Shelly Ann (Ty) Seitz; son, Matthew Christopher W. (Maria) Wiedeman; five grandchildren, Kasen Seitz, Reanne Wiedeman, Mikayla Wiedeman, Isaiah Wiedeman, Warren Wiedeman; three sisters, Sharon (Jerry) Jones, Sheila Gwaltney, Sandra Wiedeman; and two brothers, Mark Wiedeman and Melvin (Mary) Wiedeman. He was preceded in death by a brother, Milton Wiedeman; and son, Marvin Wiedeman.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

    I am saddened to read of your loss of Marvin. I will always remember our olden days in sports together and how my Bill would garnish his gentle smile of friendship when Marvin’s name would come up! He was a sweet man and easy to talk to.
