Mass of Christian Burial for Marie Katherine Trybom, 89, Lawrence will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Trybom died October 17, 2010 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born on May 11, 1921 in Washington County, Kansas the daughter of Leo and Katie Bichel Uhlrich.
Marie was a homemaker. She also worked for Sunflower Ammunition Plant during WWII.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Altar Society at the Church.
She married Marvin Francis Trybom on February 14, 1946 in Clifton, KS. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2009.
Survivors include two sons, Gene and wife, Shirley and Robert and wife, Rita all of Lawrence; four daughters, Nancy Chute and husband, Bob, Casa Grande, AZ, Judy Hauschild and husband, Marvin, Lawrence, KS, Linda Bollig and husband, Joe, Baldwin City, KS, and Angela Trybom of the home; two brothers-in-law, Carl and Emil Jr., Lawrence; four sisters-in-law, Esther Lahodny, Concordia, KS, June Myers, Gaylord, KS, Gladys Simoneau, Plainview, TX, Betty Beydler, Spokane Valley, WA; fourteen grandchildren, Diane, Cindy, Christine, Michelle, Bobby, Dori, Tim, Wendy, Drew, Adam, Bridget, Johnny, Anna and Thomas and 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Mizell and Leonilla Trybom and two brothers, Francis and Leonard Uhlrich.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care or St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2010 followed by a family visitation until 8 p.m. at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
