Loretta Komma

A Memorial Mass for Loretta Komma, 68, Lawrence, will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Lawrence.  Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Lawrence.  She died April 23, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 8, 1941 in Lawrence, KS, to Herman and Helen Considine Stiglmire.

She graduated as valedictorian from Tonganoxie High School in 1959.

Mrs. Komma worked at Travelers Insurance group, Ft. Leavenworth Military College and ROTC at the University of Kansas.  She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi social sorority and belonged to the monthly bridge club.  She volunteered at Corpus Christi Church for 22 years.  She enjoyed fishing, home making and KU sports.

She married Leroy Komma on July 20, 1963.  He survives of the home.

Other survivors include one son, Darin Komma and wife, Annette, Topeka, KS.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings.

A rosary will be recited at 4 p.m., Sunday, April 26, and the family will greet friends until 6 p.m. at the Church.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Corpus Christi Catholic Church and sent in care of the mortuary.
