Funeral services for Lois M. Kibbee McCleery Hamrick, 82, Palm Beach Gardens, FL will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2011 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. She died February 26, 2011 at her home.
Lois was born February 20, 1929 in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Roy C. and Musie I. Christie Kibbee.
She was a resident of Palm Beach Gardens since 1963, coming from Indianapolis, IN. Prior to retirement in 1994, she was a technician with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in West Palm Beach, FL and previously worked at Solitron in Riviera Beach, FL.
Lois attended the Jupiter/Tequesta United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #2010.
Survivors include one son, Ricky D. McCleery, Jupiter, FL; one daughter, Guylynn Rogers, Homer, AK; five grandchildren, Eric Roy Keller, Ricky Dean Keller, Kib Rogers, Guylynn Runey, and Kyle Rogers; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Kibbee, Lecompton, KS; four sisters, Thelma Bellinger of Lawrence, KS, Irene Dark, Lecompton, KS, Mary Francis Soetaert, Tonganoxie, KS, and Dorothy Hetzell, Leroy, KS.
The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until time of service.
The family suggests memorials to the Lecompton United Methodist Church in Lecompton, KS and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

My heart is broken. Aunt Lois and I spoke often especially after my dad passed away, her brother Melvin in Dec 07. Aunt Lois gave me so much history about the family and about her and my dad as children. She would laugh and say they were almost like twins. My dad was Feb 11, 1928 & Aunt Lois was Feb 20, 1929. I have so many letters from Aunt Lois and I will cherish them forever. She sent me so many old photos and I am blessed for these. I am truly going to miss our talks about my dad and my ancestry.
