LeRoy Edgar Poage

Funeral services for LeRoy Edgar Poage, 81, Eudora will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel.  LeRoy passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at his home.

LeRoy was born on January 10, 1941, in Gower, Missouri the son of George Edgar and Georgia Lee Anderson Poage

He was a police officer for a couple years and was also a Sheriff Deputy for Platte Co, Missouri.  His passion was selling cars for over forty years and retired from Molle Chevrolet in Blue Springs, Missouri.

He enjoyed gardening, NASCAR, and cooking, especially BBQ.  He was an avid KU Jayhawk basketball and football fan, as well as a Chiefs Football fan.  He loved being a grandpa and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He married Linda Lou Olinger on November 9, 1978, in Kansas City, MO.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his daughters, Lindsey (Brandon) Norwood, Eudora, KS, Amanda (Tayne) Preno, Gardener, KS, LeAnn Edwards, Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, sister Frances (Charlie) Bowles, St. Joseph, MO; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob Poage.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made in LeRoy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
