Leona Lorraine Mason

Funeral services for Leona Lorraine Mason, 89, Eudora will be held at 1:00 p.m., August 6, 2020 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel in Eudora. Please be aware that due to COVID-19 and safety precautions, we are asking people to respect and comply with social distancing and must wear a mask. Burial will follow at Eudora Cemetery. Lorraine passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at LMH Health.

She was born on July 31, 1931 in Fall Leaf, KS the daughter of William Loyd and Leona Alice (Jordan) Bryant.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Eudora where she was a Sunday school teacher, Missionettes and Children’s Church Leader for years.

She was a homemaker. She kept her mind active with the love of crossword puzzles and sharing stories. She loved to collect dolls and angels and had a green thumb for flowers.

Leona married Rev Silas Sidney Ray Mason on October 30, 1948 in Eudora, KS. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1987.

Survivors include her two daughters, Diana Lynn and husband, Rickey Beach, Baldwin City, KS, Paula Louise Mason, Eudora; four grandchildren, Christifer and Shawn Beach, Katrenia Bledsoe, and Zane Mason; two great grandchild, Justin & Sydney Bledsoe; step-grandson, Kevin Bledsoe; brother, Leslie D. Bryant, Eudora, a sister, Alberta L. Dover, Lawrence. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Ray Mason, brothers, Lloyd William Bryant, Kenneth A. Bryant, Calvin L. Bryant, Samuel F. Bryant; sister, Hazel A. James and a granddaughter, Crystal S Mason.

The family will greet friends at 12:00 PM prior to the service at the Eudora Chapel on Thursday.

The family suggests memorials in her name to Leona Lorraine Mason Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

    Oh we are heartbroken to see that Lorraine passed away. We were neighbors for 6 years and she was just the sweetest person. I saw Lorraine a few years ago at the grocery store and she gave me the biggest hug with a huge smile. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Diane & Wayne Duncan

    Dear Paula, I am so very sorry to hear about your mom. She was a wonderful lady and spread joy and love everywhere she went. I know she is happy in heaven where she will know the greatest peace! Please know I am thinking of you and so sorry I just found out today! She will be missed.
