Funeral Service for LaDoris “Marie” Dillon, 55, of Lawrence, Kansas will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary 120 W 13th Street, Lawrence, burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence. A Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
LaDoris “Pookie” Dillon was born to the late Fedeo Dillon III (father) and Floree (Mackin) Dillon (mother) on January 26th, 1969 in New Orleans Louisiana, Deporting this earthly life on Friday, November 1, 2020.
LaDoris speat most of her life in Lawrence Kansas, where she attended Hillcrest Elementary and then later on she attended south middle school in Lawrence, Kansas and set several basketball records. After that LaDoris attended high school in Kansas City, Kansas where she graduated from Turner High School, Class of 1988. After high school LaDoris worked as a waitress until she moves back to Lawrence and worked as a caregiver for the disabled and as a bus attendant until she could no longer work.
LaDoris loved anyone who needed love. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her 2 grandmothers Edna Dillon and Doretha Macklin, 2 grandfathers OB Macklin and Fedro Dillon 11, & granddaughter (Maaliegh Riley-Dilon), 1 first cousin Calvin Carr.
She is survived by her mother Floree Dillion (Lawrence, KS) 2 brothers Fedre Dillon (Daiona Dillon) & Dijon Dillon (April), 1 sister Jazmine Dillon, 1 son Darian Dillon, 2 Daughters Tiara Dillon & Shante Dillon, 4 Granddaughters Aman, Carbaugh, Aaliycia Dillon, Zaria Dillon & Ry’Lee Simmons, 5 Nieces Charita Dillon, Charon Dillon, Asia Goodwin, Amayah Dillon & Raeanna Dillon. 9 Nephews David Payne, Davion Payne, Samuel Beihn, Donnavan Dillon, Daniel McVey, Dand McVey, & Karmelo Dillon along with a host of great nieces; nephews, family members & friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Warren-McElwain Mortuary 120 W 13th Street, Lawrence, KS to help with costs of the final arrangements.
Oh Ladoris, you will be missed greatly. It was a pleasure working with you. You could light up a room with your contiguous smile. Still seems unreal that you are gone. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Fly high beautiful angel!
