Kate was a telephone friend through Community Village Lawrence for several
months. I’m only sorry we never got to meet face to face. She will stay in my

I met Kate in the Psychology Department at KU.
Kate and I shared a routine: She really liked one of my students, Marcia (they might have bonded over the love of dogs). When I asked Kate for something (e.g., photocopying), she would hesitate but then say, “Well, you know Marcia,” and then she would agree, and we would laugh.
I send my condolences to Kate’s family.

Kate was a good friend to me when I was Charlene’s student. We were also neighbors across our back yard fence–she loved my dog & I loved her dogs. Lots of fun chats at her kitchen table! Look out, Heaven, here she comes!! ❤️
