I worked with John at Lawrence Community Theatre (which became Theatre Lawrence) in Vintage Players-the theatre’s Senior Citizen acting troupe. He joined the group in 2004. He thoroughly enjoyed performing at Retirement Homes, Birthday Parties, Service Clubs and even Family Reunions. Vintage Players had a group of members who would read to 2nd grades at Deerfield and Cordley schools. Monthly, we would read a fairy tale to the class and then work with the students to “perform” the story. John enjoyed this so much. John also helped in the shop building scenery after Theatre Lawrence moved into their new home on Bauer Farm Dr. Even after his health prevented him from participating fully, John would attend some of the Vintage Player meetings and send me great material for the VPs to read and consider for performing. I loved working with John. He was a wonderful actor and a great friend.
John will be greatly missed by all those at Theatre Lawrence who knew him.
