Joann was a great friend to me when I was at KU (we were neighbors). I enjoyed her company and our phone conversations after I moved away and I’m so sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye. I heard a great deal about the whole family and how much she loved you all. Holding you all in my thoughts— she will be missed.

Doug, Kathy, Lynne, and Sean, I am saddened to hear of the passing of your mother Joann. I have such fond memories of our frequent visits to Uncle Johns’s in Joetown, listening to all the the joking and banter, eating Ethel’s incredible holiday meals, getting “pigtails” for Christmas from Uncle John, and fishing in the pond. I remember attending Ted and Joann’s wedding clearly. Now Joann is the arms of our Heavenly Father, totally healed, with Ted, “Bob”, Clayton, John and Ethel, Hank and Mary and many others. What a celebration! You have my sympathies.
    Blessings,
    Kent

    Doug,
We are thinking of you & yours during this most difficult time. Although we never knew your mother, Elaine knew you dad. She had the privilege of working with him & found him to be an extraordinary soul. They say death leaves a sting that only cherished memories can ease. May those memories bring you comfort in the coming days, months & years.
    Sincerely,
    Rick & Elaine
