Jeffrey Young

Funeral service for Jeffrey Keith Young, 32, will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2009, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.  He died February 4, 2009, at Lawrence, KS of Stage IV Colon Cancer.

He was born January 17, 1977, in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Doug Young and Peggy Rogers.

He graduated from Ottawa High School and attended college.  Jeff was self-employed as a mortgage broker.  He was a Little League Baseball coach.  He was an avid KU supporter and KU sports fan.

He married Abby Tillery on June 21, 2003, in Ottawa, KS.  She survives of the home.

Survivors include his mother, Peggy and husband, Jack Lindquist, Arma, KS; three sisters, Kelly Young Rhoades, Ottawa, KS, Kim Young, St. Louis, MO, and Kristina Young, Lawrence, KS; five nephews, three nieces and three others whom he considered nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jean & Jasper “Red” Young and Grace & Keith Rogers and his father, Doug.  Doug was married to Ellen Young who survives of Lawrence.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2009, at the mortuary.
