Jane, thank you so very much for sharing your life with us. To your precious world: May your Hearts’ Memory Pockets wrap around you to help you find your peace as she has found hers.
Jane was a fine, caring and competent person. She surely will be missed by her also fine surviving family, to whom we extend all our condolences.
Jane was my first cousin. Her father, Uncle Pete, was the brother of my father, Junius Underwood. Jane was generous, kind and an interesting conversationalist. Her striking blue eyes were an Underwood trait. I am out of state right now so will be unable to attend her service. Please accept my deepest condolences and know that she will be remembered.
Jane was such a sweetheart when I would come to her tag sales. Always would make sure I would get a sweet deal on something I wanted. Will truly miss seeing her. My deepest condolences to the family.
I meant Jane at one of her TLC sales. I always made a point of saying Hi to her and she always gave me a fair price on something that I wanted. I still have things that I bought from her. One day, I was going into one of her sales and she was coming out, I asked her how she was and she said to me, “Well, I’m supposed to be retired you know.” Of course, this was her being funny and I will always remember her as such. She was a very precious person. So, I extend my heartfelt sympathy and sincere condolences to the family and all who knew her.
Aunt Jane was an inspiration! She had such a big heart, great smile and a dry sense of humor. She was an educated, spiritual woman. Married to Uncle Dave for almost 60 years. A loving mother to Mark and Laura. She was so proud of her grandchildren, but especially Laura and Jay’s boy, Tyler. She adored seeing Tyler and his family often. She would light up when ever they would come visit. She was my aunt for over 60 years and I will miss her. I know she is at peace in the loving presence of her parents, loving husband, siblings and especially her precious Laura. Rest In Peace dear aunt. Love you!
Jane was my aunt. My dad, Prescott (Pete) was her brother. My favorite Aunt Jane memory was when we had the memorial luncheon for dad. It was in the mountains of northern Wyoming, at the end of July. Jane and her sister Sarah attended. At the end of the luncheon (which was kind of on an open porch, but kind of outside), after the people ate and shared their memories of dad, I asked Jane to read something from the Bible. So she opened her Bible and read a passage, and just when she finished, the thunderstorm that had been building over the next hill let loose an incredibly bright bolt of lightening and a very loud clap of thunder. Oh my goodness, that was impressive. Powerful stuff!
I’m sorry I couldn’t attend her service. I’ve been thinking about her a lot, and I know she is in a better place.
I, too, have an Aunt Jane moment to share. When Dad (Prescott Underwood Jr) sustained a head injury, whilst his wife (Kay Simms) was killed in a car accident, the wound dressing needed to be changed periodically during our trip to Lawrence for Kay’s funeral service. I remember Dad sitting quietly on the bed in our motel room while Aunt Jane changed his bandages. Such a caring sister to brother interaction! I am glad she was such a bright star to all.
