James (Jim) Wesley Robinson

James (Jim) Wesley Robinson passed away on March 9, 2021. Jim was the son of Paul E. Robinson and Mildred Joan Harris. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, four half-brothers and his half-sister. Jim served in the United States Army from 1966 – 1968. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Jim was a mechanical genius, a talented welder, could build or repair anything, and worked tirelessly to support his family. After leaving the Army Jim owned and operated his own towing and underwater recovery service, and he was also a pilot. Jim loved to fly, waterski, cruise the neighborhood on his bike, and spend time with his family and friends. A private, graveside service will honor him.

The family has requested memorial contributions be made to Just Food or Mothers Against Drunk Driving in care of Warren McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

    Jim was my cousin and friend for many years. It was great to work with him, getting to know him better by spending time with him. He is deeply missed.

    It is our privilege to live near Jim’s daughter. Jim’s intelligence, caring, and goodness lives on. Jim was dearly loved and cared for by his daughter in his difficult past few years. Her devotion to him was her final gift.
