I always enjoyed stopping by Jim’s car lot, when he wasn’t busy, and catching up on everything that was going on in Lawrence. He always seemed to know what every body was up to in town. I meet Jim in 6th grade and we became friends then, and stayed friends through out the years.

To Brenda and Jim’s family, I extend my condolences on Jim’s passing and hope you take some solace in that Jim was good man and a good friend. He will be missed.

To the family that was like family to me and mine. Jimmy and I had a lot of years together as friends he was a damn good man and someone I considered family. Due to health issues both of us hadn’t been able to get together as much as I wanted over the last few years. But the times I did get to see him and Brenda were always good. From the Grimes family we are so sorry to see Jimmy leave us and we send our love to Brenda and the boys.

Jim and Brenda along with their kids and extensive animal family were the best neighbors I have ever had across the street from me on Penn. St. and E. 22nd Terrace. Always lots of action and fun. Brenda and I would both be gardening past dark on weekends with the help of flashlights. Good memories. God bless, Brenda.

Jimmy was such a good guy! We had so much fun in junior high. He was always smiling. A bunch of us would go around after school being goofballs. It was fun reconnecting on Facebook. He shared a recipe and I thought that was so neat. I was hoping to stop in and connect on one of my trips back to Lawrence and was shocked to just now to hear of his passing. Rest In Peace, Jimmy. You were such a good person with so much kindness.
