Memorial services for Darrell E. Kahle, 74, Eudora, KS will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary—Eudora, Kansas. Military Honors will be conducted by Dorsey-Liberty Post #14, American Legion.
He died on Sunday, August 09, 2009 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Kahle was born on December 16, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Arthur and Beulah McDivitt Kahle. He was raised in Alta Vista, Kansas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a District Manager for Guys Potato Chips for 33 years. He retired in 1981. He then owned The Pub in Eudora for many years.
He was a member of the Doric Masonic Lodge #83 in Eudora.
He was married to Geraldine Larson on October 9, 1955 in Alta Vista, Kansas. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2005.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynn Reif of Dwight, Kansas, Trisha Theas of Americus, Kansas and Darla Lamb of Kansas City, Missouri; one son, Gerald Kahle of Linwood, Kansas; one brother, Ivor Lee Kahle of Manhattan, Kansas; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday, followed by Masonic services conducted by Doric Masonic Lodge #83, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary—Eudora Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association or Doric Masonic Lodge # 83 and may be sent in care of the mortuary, 120 W.13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
