A memorial visitation for Jackie L. Abel, 60, Eudora will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel. She died June 5, 2016 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.
Jackie was born October 22, 1955 in Lawrence, Kansas the daughter of Carl M. and Geraldine “Jerry” Langan Abel.
She graduated from Eudora High School in 1973 and then graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1978. She taught school at Northern Heights Schools. She later worked for the Hercules and Sprint. She most recently was working at Forrest T. Jones. She enjoyed playing pool and was active in many local pool tournaments. She was a 2015 member of the American Pool Players Association.
She is survived by her brother, Carlie Abel and his wife, Anita of Eudora, KS; nephews, Doug Abel and Luke Abel both of Lawrence, KS; niece, Sarah Meador and husband, Drew and great niece and nephew, Ella Jo Meador and Hendrix Meador all of Medicine Lodge, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Darrell.
Memorials may be made in her name to the American Heart Association or to Eudora United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Jackie’s passing. Jackie was loved by so many and had countless friends. She was kind, caring, cheerful and always thought of the needs of others before herself. My thoughts and prayers will be with her sweet family and dear friends over the days and weeks ahead.

Jackie was a very kind soul. She was always fun to be with. I am going to miss her dearly. Rest in peace Jackie. Prayers for all the family.
I don’t remember ever seeing Jackie without a big smile on her face. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and all of her many friends.
So sorry for your loss. I remember many fun times working with Jackie at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant. She enjoyed her many friends and always had a positive attitude! Thinking of her family and friends during this time of grief.

So shocked to hear this sad news. I’ve had so many fun times with Jackie playing pool and traveling to Vegas. I will never forget her “swishy pants (you had to be there!). My thoughts are with you and the family, she will leave a huge void in all our lives. Hugs to you!

So sorry for your loss, my heart dropped when I heard this. She was such a sweet lady. I will always remember giving her a hard time about her Chiefs, a loyal fan.

Last time I saw her wat at our 40th Class Reunion when we had a float in the CPA Parade!
We had alot of fun in HighSchool and whe willl truely be Missed

We we were blessed to have experienced her joy. I never saw that girl not positive . Carl , I can’t fill her shoes but I try, I am here for you and Anita. Love you !

We are so sorry to hear about Jackie’s passing. She was one of the few people I knew that no matter at what age, she was always young at heart which made it feel very special to be around her.
