A visitation for Jack Ronan Warner, 4, Lawrence will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Jack passed away January 31, 2025 at his home.
Jack was born July 22, 2020, in Kansas City, KS, the son of Matthew and Ashley (Howey) Warner. Jack was full of life and joy. His favorite things were cars. Jack could tell you the make and model of nearly every car. He loved driving his Lamborghini and Jeep around the neighborhood any chance he could get. He remembered all of his family members cars and insisted on having his parents buy the Hot Wheels versions for him. Jack was also an avid Bluey and Mickey Mouse fan, but lately had enjoyed watching WWE every Monday and Friday night. He loved to cheer on his Jayhawks and Chiefs.
Jack had a busy social calendar filled with gymnastics, pre-school, and going out to his favorite places around Lawrence. He had a sweet tooth for chocolate and donuts, and loved getting brunch most weekends at Ladybird Diner for his favorite grits and bacon.
Jack will be greatly missed by his parents, Matthew and Ashley Warner; grandparents Nina Howey, Angie (Caleb) Gilbert, and Larry Warner; aunts, Yaslyn Howey (Tyler Rowlinson) and Stephanie (David) Campbell; uncles, Ty and CJ Gilbert and Michael Zaccur; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Jeff Howey.
Oh Matt and Ashley. My heart is breaking for you!! I know he was such a joy in your lives. Michael loved him dearly and spoke often of his loving relationship with him. I cannot even imagine how difficult this is for you but know you gave him the best life ever and you will be with him again in heaven. May your memories give you comfort when you are ready and I pray for strength for you to provide comfort for each other during this most difficult time.
To the Warner and Howey Families,
I work with Yaslyn and our entire office is saddened to hear this sad news.
My heart and hugs go out to you all as you remember your fun, smart 4 yr old.
We all know there is a special place for the young in’s who left us too early.
Love,
Julie Banister-Hoppas
“Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.”
I served with Jeff at the Topeka Police Department. Nina, Yaslyn, Ashley and the Warner family, you are in my prayers.

To Matt and Ashley,
I love you ❤️❤️
I’ve encountered hundreds of people over my years of service and you guys will always be one of my favorites to wait on. You are amazing people and Jack was an amazing, handsome, quite stylish little guy! Jack will always be in my heart and everytime I serve a side of grits, I’ll smile at the thought of Jack’s famous fist bumps!
