So sorry to learn of our cousin Jack’s passing. Donna and I met him and a few other cousins once for breakfast in Lawrence. Donna remembers playing baseball in the area between the house and barn at the home place with all the brothers. And other times sitting around the living room of the home place listening to them playing their guitars, fiddle, and banjo and singing old songs. She remembers enjoying Aunt Fannie’s cooking on the old wood stove. In the wintertime they would sit on a big scoop shovel and slide down the snowy hills. All of this was when our Dad, Emil Saile brother of Joe, was alive. Sharon was not born yet, so she missed out on lots of fun. We did have a family reunion once at Bob and Donna’s farm. Most of us were there. We send our deepest sympathy to all of the family.

So sorry to hear of Jack passing away. A plethora of memories of him. His smile pretty much says it all. Simply a great person. Too many memories of him to expound upon—-all good memories, whether Vinland fair or as an implement parts guy extraordinaire The man knew Allis Chalmers machinery—-front to back. Forty -plus years later and living in Oregon— I still remember and will never forget. My deepest sympathy to the Saile family.
