Jack Dean Beerbower, Sr.

Graveside service for Jack D. Beerbower, 81, Eudora will be held at noon Friday, February 15, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery. He died Monday, February 11, 2019 at his home.

He was born on May 30, 1937 in Valley Falls KS, the son of James William and Kelley Grace (Fish) Beerbower.

He was a custodial foreman at the University of Kansas for 33 years. He retired in 1994.

He married Corliss Coleen Houdson on September 5, 1975 in Lawrence, KS. She preceded him in death on November 25, 2014.

Survivors include his daughters, Betty Beerbower, Lawrence, Nancy Daniels, Eudora. Kelley Hunt, Lawrence; son, Jackie Beerbower, Eudora; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and friend and neighbor, Ronnie Wyrick. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Jim and Charles Beerbower; and four sisters, Elsie, Norma Smith, Dorie and Eva.

The family will greet friends from 10 – 11:30 a.m. prior to the service on Friday, February 15th at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

    I met Jack and Corliss through a mutual friend and camped with them several times. Jack would show off his van at the Vantasia Truck In , and Jack’s van would usually win in his class. He was always proud of his van, and it was evident he loved his wife Corliss also. Rest In Peace Jack. We’re going to miss you.

    I am sorry to hear about the death of Jack. I was a caregiver for Jack until his neighbor Ronnie Wyrick took him away. I took very very good care of jack. He will be missed.
