Mass of Christian Burial for GINA MARIE BAILEY- CARBAUGH, 43, of Lawrence, Kansas will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.
Ms. Bailey-Carbaugh died Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence.
She was born July 28, 1965 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Russell and Jaunita (Pickert) Bailey.
She attended Lawrence Public Schools and was a 1983 graduate of Lawrence High School. She attended the University of Kansas, Johnson County Community College and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Washburn University in Topeka.
She worked as a Resident Care Coordinator and Assistant Director of Nursing at Medicalodges of Eudora. She had previously worked in the Emergency Room at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was a Certified Nurse’s Assistant Teacher for Neosho County Community College at the Lawrence campus site.
Gina enjoyed cross-stitching, gardening, spending time with friends and family, walking her dog, Luke, and collecting rooster figurines. Most of all she lived to help save lives.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.
She is survived by two daughters, Kelli Carbaugh of Lawrence and Caitlin and her husband Anthony Thomas of Paxico, Kansas; one son, Sergeant Don Carbaugh of Cherry Point, North Carolina; her parents Russell and Jaunita Bailey of Lawrence, Kansas; one sister, Lisa Bauman of Roeland Park, Kansas; two grandchildren, Amahni Carbaugh and Aalycia Dillon, both of Lawrence, Kansas.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Gina Bailey-Carbaugh Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
