Gayle Elaine Tennyson

A memorial visitation for Gayle Elaine Tennyson, 70, Lawrence, KS, will be held at from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, KS. Private inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Gayle passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at LMH Health in Lawrence.

Gayle was born on April 24, 1951, in Lawrence, the daughter of George E. and Caroline O. (Gunn) Tennyson.

She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1969. She was a cake decorator for Munchers Bakery for over 25 years. Gayle loved to read, garden, and watch football. She loved her grandchildren and animals, especially her dog, Kirby.

Survivors include her daughter, Rachel Elaine Muñoz; son, Joseph Edward Muñoz; two grandchildren, Natalie, and Madelyn; sister, Lea Ann (John) Lyons; and brother, Michael (Vicki) Tennyson, Sr. and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Caroline Tennyson.

Memorial contributions may be made in Gayle’s name to Donor’s Choice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

    I was sad to learn about Gayle’s death. She was such a kind person, even in seventh grade when I first met her. My condolences to her family.

    I am so ,so sorry to hear this. I just found out while i was scrolling through the obit’s about a school mate that passed away. I hadnt seen Gayle for so long and i am a second cousin. Shame on me. God Bless All the Family.
